VIRTUAL FOOD & CLOTHING DRIVE

The Community Service Committee is participating in virtual food drives for Matthew’s Crossing Food Bank and St. Mary's Food Bank during the months of November and December, 2020.  EPAZ members can participate by donating money to either Food Bank. Cash donations actually stretch your dollar further than what it purchases at a grocery store. In fact, $1 provides enough food for 7 meals for our hungry neighbors.

Known as the world's first food bank, St. Mary's Food Bank has been filling empty stomachs in the Arizona community for 50 years.  St. Mary’s is truly a community-based organization. Individual donors, corporate donors, and private grants help feed hungry individuals and families in our area. Serving 9 of Arizona’s 15 counties, we are committed to volunteerism, building community relationships and improving the quality of life for Arizonans in need.

Matthew's Crossing Food Bank has served the East Valley for over 18 years.  The donated money will purchase food to feed children, adults, and seniors.  Donations are tax deductible.  Matthew’s Crossing strives to serve their neighbors in need with compassion, so they can preserve their dignity, and have hope for a healthier and happier future.  Matthew’s Crossing states that 1 in 4 children will go to bed hungry tonight; that 1 in 5 adults don’t know where their next meal will come from; and that 1 in 7 seniors need emergency food assistance right now.

Through strategic community partnerships, a commitment to increasing awareness, and a diverse family of volunteers, both St. Mary's and Matthew’s Crossing Food Banks continue to serve more of their neighbors in need, year over year.

This virtual food drive will be an opportunity to give back and make an immediate impact by providing financial support to both Food Banks.  Choose a link below and make a direct donation.

The Community Service Committee will also be collecting clothing items during the months of November and December, 2020 for the Andre House of Hospitality.  The Andre House of Hospitality is an organization dedicated to serving the basic needs of the homeless population in Phoenix through the provision of food, clothes, and showers.

Please start collecting items of clothing that you would like to donate.  Coats, jackets, sweatshirts with hoods, socks and blankets are especially needed, however any clothing is appreciated.
