Minimize the Back and Forth: Common Deficiencies with Aquifer Protection Permit Applications

Submitting a robust Aquifer Protection Permit (APP) application will often expedite the permitting timeline and reduce associated costs to permittees. However, APP applications often contain multiple deficiencies or do not provide sufficient information, thus slowing down the permitting process and increasing costs to permittees. The presentation aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the essential components of the APP application and review process. The APP program is designed to regulate discharges to groundwater within acceptable standards that are protective of public health and the environment, and a complete application from the outset of the permitting process will help facilitate a cost-effective process.
