:00 to 1:00 PM WEBINAR Presentation ADE
Q: WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER 2 Rs? (Reduce and Reuse) presente
d by JB Shaw, Recycling Coordinator, Arizona Dept. Of Environmental Quality
(ADEQ) We all take pride in recycling as much as we can. I
n these changing times that recycling has been a challenge in many cities a
cross the nation, reduce and reuse deserve a better share in the game. ADEQ
is working to help drive end market development in Arizona while also look
ing at regional recycling programs for rural areas. Some rural counties and
towns are ready to create sustainable reuse/recycle programs and we’ll see
what they are up to in the presentation. Now we all wish recycling was a s
taple of every community, but we need to be aware that reducing and reusing
are much better for the environment and your bottom line!
- What if you didn’t have to manage that waste in the first place? Could
you require vendors in your supply chain to utilize reusable delivery optio
ns leaving you with less to manage?
- Are you aware that there are co
mpanies right here in Arizona that would love to have your old materials ra
ther than feeding the landfill?
- Come join us to see what ideas are
surfacing that could help build a better culture around reducing and reusin
g in Arizona!
- Everything from preventing waste to sharing wastes th
rough an online platform or donation. One’s trash might be another’s treasu
re. So bring your own ideas to share with the group as we work on establish
ing more waste diversion opportunities for our state.
- The time is n
ow! Reduce, don’t produce!
