PFAS Regulatory Drivers and the Analytical Tools to Support Them
|
This presentation will catalogue the myriad of regulatory drivers evolving at the federal level and provide an update on the range of analytical tools that exist to comply with these regulations. Example regulatory drivers and their respective analytical tools include: NPDES permitting and Draft EPA Methods 1633 and 1621, UCMR5 monitoring and EPA Methods 537.1 and 533, the NDAA Fluorine Free Foam replacement law and efforts to develop a method for F3 foams, Source Air Emissions monitoring from manufacturing and treatment facilities and EPA OTM-45 and OTM-50. With rapidly evolving regulations as well as technologies there is an almost immeasurable amount of developments to keep track of. The goal of this presentation is to provide those critical updates as well as to help the audience increase their understanding of the considerations or implications of one analytical approach or another towards compliance with these regulations.
Taryn McKnight, PFAS Practice Leader for Eurofins Environment Testing, has 20 years of experience in the environmental testing industry. As one of the company’s subject matter experts on PFAS, Ms. McKnight contributes to multiple organization and agency workgroups to address PFAS challenges, including her current effort as co-chair of the NGWA subcommittee to develop PFAS Sampling Guidance. With her expertise she provides technical guidance to clients in setting up programs to achieve their site-specific objectives, and to agencies with understanding their analytical options and data usability considerations.
